Please sign this petition as Debbie Ruge Hill and Jacoby need to be able to be with the rest of their family. It is not fair that there is a 10 year ban preventing Debbie traveling to the USA – it’s heartless!!!!!
My Australian wife of 16 years, Debra Hill, was given a ten year ban from the United States due to an overstay. We have two children, Emerson (9), and Jacoby (3). My children and I are all U.S. citizens, and wish to live in the United States with their mother. In 2009 we were on an extended stay in the U.S. and decided we wanted to remain here, to be closer to my family. Debra and I started the immigration process on our own, by submitting an I-130, which was approved. Unfortunately, we did not realize we needed to have the green card application in before Debra’s visa waiver expired. We had made a big mistake! We received a letter soon after stating she was no longer eligible to apply, and spent the next few years trying to rectify the situation with Immigration. In December of 2012 we got a phone call to say that Debra’s mother was terminally ill, and Debra left with both children in January of 2013 to be with her. I stayed behind to keep the house going and went for a visit in March of 2013, shortly before her mother passed. We began the process again and in March of 2014 she was denied her green card, and barred for 10 years from entering the U.S. due to the overstay. Emerson is in the United States with me, Jacoby is with Debra in Australia. Our goal of continuing to live in the United States is slipping away, and soon we will be forced to give up the fight and move back to Australia to put our family back together. This is not what we want but the strain of being separated for 26 months has taken a heavy toll on our family, and we just can’t continue. Please take a moment to sign our petition to Secretary of State Kerry to remove the ban on Debra, and allow us to live in the United States as a happy whole family. Thank you for your time, Jason Hill
